The Edge of the Wold

Heron

After two more Knott walks earlier, our final walk was a circuit from Wolf House over Heald Brow and back via Jenny Brown's Point and Jack Scout. Here is another view into Morecambe Bay with Piel Castle on the horizon, the sun already lost behind the dark clouds over the Irish Sea, and a single heron stepping through shallow water over the mudflats, with a gull flying across.  This was the first time I have tried using Big Len here, I do need to spend more time exploring its potential.

Now we are home and keeping Gus close for another evening of fireworks on Guy Fawkes night itself. So far it is quieter than yesterday, and Gus is sleeping in his most comfy basket next to me. We are waiting for Wifie to return from Manchester where she has been for the weekend.
