Hiking at Hueston Woods

Friday
Roger had the day off today in observance of Veterans Day tomorrow. It was a sunny, breezy but extremely cold day, barely making it above freezing. We decided to head up to Hueston Woods State Park to do some hiking. Hueston Woods is located near Oxford Ohio, the home of Miami University, where our youngest daughter Laura went, so of course we went for a drive around the town for old times sake, and stopped to pick up a sandwich, which we ate in the car overlooking the lake at the state park. The Lake is popular with boaters in season, but all the boats were out of the water for the winter, and the park was very quiet - we only passed two other couples on the trail. Veterans Day isn’t a holiday for everyone, so many people would be at work, and others I guess were staying at home in the warm! Earlier this evening we were out at a dinner and talk at church, but are now home in our warm house!
