Winter Red Winterberry

Even the Winter Reds damaged during excavation are loaded with berries this year as are the American holly trees. This morning I was delighted to see and hear a male downy woodpecker (at the thistle feeder! and climbing up a birch). We put deflectors on the new bedroom windows to hopefylly avoid future injuries. After moving the heated birdbath and feeder hook near the back porch and bedroom, dozens of birds showed up today.
