Venison, red cabbage, sprouts, and hasselbacks

The meal that I prepared (mostly) yesterday went down very well at lunch time today with Petrina, Stephen, Liz and Tony.

We started with beetroot hummus on rye bread with fizz in the sitting room, then moved into the kitchen for fig and stilton pastry parcels. The main course was venison casserole with red cabbage, sprouts, and hasselback potatoes (blipped), and scented pears in red wine followed. If that were not enough, we then moved on to cheese.

We managed a short walk after this feast, returning home just as the sun set - and then set about working our way through the box of chocolates that Liz and Tony brought us as a present!

The others eventually managed to shift themselves from the sofa to make their journeys home. Meanwhile Mr hazelh and I feel like we will not need to eat again for at least a week!

Exercise today: small amount of walking (9,936 steps)
