Egyptian Geese: maiden flight?

I've just back blipped a gosling with attitude for yesterday's blip.
See the effort on their faces in large ("L").

The goslings began trying to fly in earnest yesterday, but today two of them got the whole way from the island to (near) the edge like this! Their feet were running along the surface, but some steps missed the water so they were actually airborne! SO exciting; they did so well!
I suppose it depends on your definition, but was this their maiden flights? It is almost as much "flying" as the Wright brothers' attempt...
Are they now fledglings?

They were so tired out by their flight that they could hardly hold their wings up afterwards; they were drooping down like they did when the goslings' feathers first grew, and their wings are too heavy for their muscles to support.
Another first today: I heard them make a noise other than their cute little "peep peep"ing! One sort of quacked in response to its mother's alarm signal on seeing a dog

I'm too excited to write any more...
