Witham

Usual Tuesday early start for my day at The J's Hospice. This is a little view of Witham that I pass every trip and keep meaning to stop.  Today on the way home I did stop and take the photo... getting quite gloomy by then but this is pretty much the photograph I had in mind.

Used the spot meter on the white bench to set the exposure which has thrown everything else into shadow, with some muted highlight on the house behind.

I don't know how long this bench has been here but it must go back to a time when there was much less traffic... It's on a small island at a junction and there is a certain amount of risk involved in trying to sit on it!
