(A back blip)

Probably one of the highlights of our special holiday was a helicopter trip across the canyons, along the Napoli coast and over steep ridges and up to the high interior mountain. At times it was very scary when we seemed to head into deep canyons and straight for cliffs and then quickly turn or swoop up and over, barely skimming the top.  The interior is considered to be one of the wettest places in the world with an annual average rainfall of 460 inches (1,200 cm) (London has about 23 inches or 58 cm ) We saw many rainbows and innumerable streams tumbling down through scrub and forests, over waterfalls and down steep vertical cliffs. (extra) In contrast the area around the south and east coast seemed dry and flat with a few sandy beaches on the coast.
