Ho Ho Ho

This is Hodan or Ho Ho as i’ve lovingly called her since school. She is my longest friend in the entire world. We’ve known each other since primary school. An impressive 25 years of putting the world to rights

We’re meeting up (as we always do when i visit home) to go to the cafe next to school where we used to be found bunking lessons and smoking. The conversation has somewhat changed from which teachers we want dead to kids (hers) and work and the perils of adulthood.

Hodan is the very first person i came out to. She was incredibly supportive and protective at the time. Without her I wouldn’t have found the strength to face those bullies in school and come out at 15 years old.

We know each others families well and as we sip tea and talk politics she has asked that bloody question....

Surely it’s time to bring your ass back home to London.

As times change and things move on, it’s fantastic to be able to pick up where we left off... she’s truly 1 in a billion
