Quod oculus meus videt

So That's where...........

......all the leaves have come from!

Location: Shrewsbury Walk, Weston Park

An early afternoon meeting at the park was followed by a quick walk along Shrewsbury Walk as the sun began to set.  I had a quick chat with the head gardener, Martin, as the ground staff nearby were collecting leaves that were literally everywhere.  They are hundreds of mature trees just around the formal parts of the estate, let alone the parkland seen in the distance in this image.  All those in sensitive locations are collected for leaf mulch.  This is a two year process, and they were just turning the piles from 2016's leaf drop.

It was a truly wonderful end to the day and the only frustration was that my main target for images, the fallow deer, were resolutely hiding from me amongst the small copse on the west of their enclosure.  I heard plenty of evidence of activity; the two dominant bucks could be heard grunting at each other from their respective positions, but none showed themselves.

Technical: The tripod was set out with the legs splayed at 90 degrees to get low enough for this image.  A 5 shot, bracketed exposure (1 stop). I've now got photo merge working in Lightroom.  Finally a few basic slider changes and sharpening.
