The Passenger Shed

I agreed to speak at a conference ages ago, in a city I have not visited for 30 years.

This building, the venue,  was designed and built by one of Britain's all time great engineers, and is a magnificent space,

I had a very early breakfast (I travelled down last night), allowing me an hour for a quick explore of the waterfront (I took loads of pics, one is in the extras).

Returning this evening, from a station which features in Simon Jenkins new book "The 100 best railway stations", I was amazed by the number of bicycles on the platform. This is cycling city, UK style.
