People in Need

Even though its Sunday, people come to the gate of St John of God's house where we live.
Today there were four or five arrivals and Mary listens to their stories and does what she can.
After six days in enduring temperatures in the middle thirties, a free day would be nice, but it never comes.

Mary is challenging this 10 year old about school and his poor knowledge of English, even though his mother is fluent. His mother is blind and he takes her around every where she goes. Her husband is dead and she has three children. She comes to Mary for knitting wool and she got some clothes, food and a bag.
She has gone back to secondary school is half way through and is learning through braille.
The girl facing was looking for a job, having travelled about 250 miles. Mary could only direct her to St John of God Services in the morning. In the far background (left top corner)is an invalid in a wheelchair/bicycle ready to tell his story'
Its an ongoing saga all day every day and shows the old, forgotten, starving ill and challenged. A humbling experience
