Here and Now

Snap

I didn’t hear you growing
And sometimes I forgot to notice you
But today I saw a gray patch of sky
Where your crown once adorned you
No longer a refuge for birds
No longer a shade canopy for grass
Your arms broken
Your fingers crushed

I will miss you
Tree, thy name is Glory

I couldn’t responsibly stop the car anywhere on the steep winding section of Route 82/Cannon Road between Liberty and Route 91/Darrow Road where some of the largest fallen trees still rest post-tornado.

So I pulled into Crown Hill Cemetary to take this shot in the pouring rain. I laughed on my way out where a sign read “Buy one plot, get one free”. Never thought a cemetary would go BOGO!
