Light Spider

Tonight was the beginning of Oxford's annual light festival. Children process through the streets with lantern-sculptures they have made, there is light and sound everywhere, the museums are open late and, without pomp or celebrity, the Christmas street lights are just on.

This year there was a projection onto the Museum of Natural History featuring illuminated versions of its contents: jellyfish, birds, plants and this magnificent spider with web.

In Gloucester Green I loved the winter lights among the autumn leaves (extra).
