Sweet

Don’t get me wrong, I am a lover of sweet potatoes, but this person may have a problem. Either that or they have inside knowledge of some disaster about to befall Beijing, and this is what they have chosen to stockpile.

Arrived in Beijing this morning on the overnight high-speed train from Guangzhou. Guangzhou was 23 degrees and I had a frappe on the terrace of the museum just before I got the train. Ten hours and 1400 miles later, in Beijing West station it was -4 and I had to unpack my suitcase in the arrival hall and put on all of my clothes at once.
