Time of The Year

It was a dark, cold and wet start to Monday.  The mondayness of which was reinforced when I got to work to discover that both lifts are now out of order.  Still, I work on the 6th floor, it's not that many stairs...

However when I got up to my floor, I found a colleague waiting.  We might have to use the stairs but when the door is locked, we can't get in.  I was lucky, I only had to wait 10 minutes before the security guard came back with the right key.  My colleague had been waiting for 45 minutes by the time I got there, he was none too pleased.

Busy day for me.  We implemented a new program, and because we changed something, that meant that we were to blame for ANYTHING that went wrong on the mainframe.  Consequently, E-Mails arrived every couple of minutes and the telephone rang and rang.

And everything was Urgent.  Of course it was.  I did my best.  Fixed lots.  Found some things that were not our fault.  Fixed them too.  It's all about making life easier for everyone.

Peeve of the day:-  when I left work, it was raining hard.  Waited in the bus stop, under the roof.  It was fine right up until the point that someone arrived and decided to light up a cigarette.  You have no choice when someone does that.  You have to breathe their smoke.

I left and stood in the rain.  I'm not a fan of thoughtlessness.

And because I only saw rain and grey today, I was glad that today was the day that my company gives everyone an advent calendar.  I have already given mine away.
