Clay Lick

BackBlip

The Indigenous People of the Kichwa Community protect this 'Clay Lick' located in the Yasuni National Park. Men work as rangers and the women staff and run an Interpretive Cultural Center. Four types of Parrots were at the Lick this morning as we sat in our 'power canoe' and watched spellbound! There must have been at least 500 parrots ingesting the clay to help isolate and flush the toxins which they ingest from certain seeds that they eat.
