Diary of an Edinburgher

High finance

I popped to the bank to move some of my investments to an offshore account. No, I didn’t, but I did get a new card that doesn’t cost anything and ditch the card that that costs. I met with my new personal 'Relationship Manager' and it took quite a while.

My new personal 'Relationship Manager', Fraser, was a charming young man who started by apologising for his moustache, explaining that he was growing it for MOvember', but seemed a bit disappointed with it. I told him it was fine, no need to apologise. Though the reddish tinge didn’t match his dark brown hair, so I think it's best if he doesn’t get used to it.

We spent quite a bit of time talking about the rugby at the weekend (when Scotland very nearly beat the All Blacks). He was at the game, and in fact, he met and socialised with the team after the match - his wife had been at school with Stuart Hogg!

I took the bus home instead of walking, as it was still raining. JR took Archie out for a muddy frolic in the Links. Here he is with the dreaded coat on - he refused to turn around to look at the camera. He had a big thorough bath afterwards, as the light swishing I gave him after yesterday's muddy walk wasn’t very effective.

I popped to the doctor again. Still sore and stiff and fed up with the general lack of improvement. He's referring me to a clinic for a bit of investigative prodding, which is good. And I’m starting new (old) pills again, so fingers crossed. I don’t mean to whinge quite so much about my ailments, I’m just recording it.

My pal has got an email telling her that her iPhone X is ready to collect - a couple of weeks earlier than anticipated. How exciting! We ordered on the same day, and I’ve been checking my email every few minutes, but nothing so far...
