Looking Up

The stacks in the New Register House Dome. Looking up just before the evening lecture started. It was all about the first football club in the world. Or rather, foot-ball club, as it called itself. Not Sheffield FC, despite what it says on their badge, even if they can easily claim to be the oldest club still playing as The Foot-Ball Club that started in Edinburgh in 1824 didn't even last long enough to still be around when the Sheffield club started in 1857. Very interesting to hear about Edinburgh's role in the early organisation and codification of football and rugby.
