Beaches, Cliffs, Fossils, and Friends

A walk with some of our friends' family, starting at Burton Bradstock and Hive beach, along the beach to West Bay, up onto the cliffs and back to the Hive Cafe for a welcome bowl of delicious fish soup.  Here you see Mike, Jan, and the black Labrador. We looked for fossils among the cliff falls but found very few.
The air felt so warm it seemed strange considering the time of year. Perhaps it's my Swedish weather sense, telling me 12°C at the end of November is just silly? Maybe for a Dorset native this just feels normal? Anyway, the wind blew and chilled us all down a little.
Judging by the accomodation on the beach things get a lot more crowded in the summer. To my eyes those chalets look very close to the sea. I wouldn't want to be staying there on a dark stormy night when it becomes obvious why nothing is growing on that sand! Maybe I need to be more optimistic!
It's lovely to be discovering this part of the country in the quiet season!
