A view from Jeanneb

A lovely day out in York

My friend and I got the train to Leeds this morning and then, taking a leaf out of Corinthian Column's book, we too the ZAP  bus to York.

We had a good journey as it was a glorious morning. We headed first to M&S and got a coffee in the cafe there. This was the view from the window. A great view of the Minster and some of the Shambles market below.

Just outside there was a Christmas market, the first we've been to this year. The theme was more Nordic than Germanic and we had a feast of Bratwurst with fries topped with cheese and Scandinavian pickles. Very filling!

Walked along to the river as we had noticed it was very high when we arrived in the bus. (Extra) Not as bad as on some occasion but the usual pub looked to be under water.

We finished our afternoon off with a mulled wine to walk back to the bus with. Sun setting as we travelled back to Leeds (got the front seat on the top deck!)  But when we got off the train in Bingley it was raining and we even saw some cars with snow on them!

A lovely day out and didn't spend too much even though it was
Black Friday.
