Christmas Market in Sheffield

More to follow!

A trip into Sheffield yesterday to deliver prints to the judge for our next Open Print Competition so we made the most of it.  Starting off at the Wortley Arms for lunch, followed by a visit to the `Ravilious and his contemporaries' at the Sheffield Millennium Galleries which we'd glimpsed previously just before it was due to close for the afternoon.  It also gave us an opportunity the view the Sheffield Photographic Society exhibition in the adjacent Winter Gardens which I thought was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their members photographic interests.  There was lots of space, so members who wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to share their work had been provided by one screen each onto which they could set up their display.  What was great about it was the way they were showcasing images that might not have done well in club competitions because they weren't those `kinds' of images!  I really enjoyed looking.  My favourites was a panel showing a misty karst landscape in Vietnam, beautiful photographs and somewhere I'd really like to visit.
