What a wedding!

Quite a day - to London and back for Anna and James’ wedding. Because he was a chorister in the Chapel Royal, in St James’ palace, as a kid - he is one of very few people allowed to marry there - with armed guards at the gate where they checked our ID, no photos allowed inside, a wonderful choir and a history including: Henry the VIII’s marriage to Anne of Cleves, Queen Victoria’s marriage to Prince Albert, Queen Mary I’d heart is buried beneath the choir stalls, Diana’s body was laid in there in the week before her funeral for close friends and family to visit, Prince George was christened there, and loads of musicians were members of the Chapel Royal including Purcell and Handel who were both Organists at the Chapel Royal for a good amount of years!

All this was followed by a grand reception at the Lansdowne Club nearby in Mayfair...

It will still be going on but I am on my way home to Birmingham rather than staying over in London as I need a good night’s rest - and more to the point, so does Sam who looked after the kids for the day so I could go.
