Minced frogs

These South African "Fruit dainties" are made from various fruits which I imagine are not good enough as whole fruits for the discerning (i.e fussy) shopper.

They also have a little too much sugar on them.

They are a delight of my childhood, and my brother and I referred to them as "minced frogs"


I have no idea how we came to give them that name and in my experience they look (and taste) nothing like minced frogs.
