Life on the farm . . .

It rained....and rained....and rained.  We have enjoyed about 50 mm of the wet stuff in the last 48 hours so the family are delighted! The farm is looking more lush already.
Did a game drive today and saw some newly born impala (hidden in bush so not able to snap them).
Also saw one of the giraffe had a tick bird on it.
The masked weaver was starting to build its nest.
The hound belongs to nephew - she is a delightful dog, called Coco who sits in the landie very patiently during game visits.
There are a lot of incidents on farms in SA.  This morning we heard a friend had been attacked and had his bakkie (vehicle) stolen. He was able to walk to a neighbour who alerted the police.  A road block was set up and the perpetrators opened fire; shots were returned so they abandoned the bakkie and ran off....One perpetrator was apprehended and is in custody and the bakkie was returned....Thankfully his wife and daughter were away for the weekend so they were spared.
