Escape!

An arty day in the smoke. After a larger breakfast than intended, or was wise, an exhibition at the Tate Modern - Ilya and Emilia Kabakov - Not Everyone will be Taken into the Future. Nothing like living under a totalitarian regime to make art relevant and subversive, eh? Kabakov got away with "The Man Who Flew Into Space From His Apartment" in1985 when the Soviet System was on its last legs, I guess. Complete with (false) testimonies from all the neighbours in the tenement. Wonderful.
A stroll did follow, to meet up with the recuperating F at the War Museum to see an exhibition about art in the age of 9/11. But first, banana loaf in the cafe, as you do. Actually, the 9/11 stuff aside, I didn’t think it was much cop. Yes, yes, the art, not the loaf.
A stroll back, couple of beers, stretch out and doze, and then along to near London Bridge for a burger, which was just what was called for. I’ll have a burger, said I.
Still haven’t mastered this bloody smart room technology though. After lights out, the blind started opening - and all I’d done was switch on the electric toothbrush. Driverless cars? Can’t wait.
