Whiteface with Snow!

This is an early morning view of Whiteface Mountain with a dusting of overnight snow (which was gone when I went out again after breakfast).  After last night's frost everything was sparkling--the best day on the six days of our little tour so far (even with some clouds later).

Whiteface (4020 feet/1225 meters) is one of four main peaks in the Sandwich Range of the White Mountains which are generally visible from our family stamping grounds in Tamworth New Hampshire. (The others are Chocorua. Passaconway and Paugus.)

Later we paid another visit to the Sandwich Fair, and in the afternoon made the short climb up Rattlesnake Mountain, for its spectacular view of Lakes Squam and Winnipesaukee--the view could not have been clearer.
