Above And Beyond...

Caerphilly Castle

Mrs BB was working the morning shift so after making her a cuppa I took the opportunity of visting Caerphilly Castle, ten minutes drive away, to take an early morning sunrise photo; not much sky colour though.

The castle was completed in 1271 on behalf of Gilbert de Clare. It occupies 30 acres and is the second largest castle in Britain after Windsor. It was built fo the Anglo-Norman invasion into Wales from their bases in England.

This afternoon I joined my eldest son, James, who'd travelled in a mini-bus with a load of friends from his local pub, to a pub in Newport City Centre, to watch the Wales v South Africa match. Wales won. Whilst in the centre I took the opportunity to buy some butcher made sausages and also order a turkey crown for Christmas.

As a heads-up, it's a supermoon tomorrow where the moon is full and on a close orbit to earth making it appear larger than normal. I'll try and have a go at capturing it with something in the foreground.
