Fun at the Fair

Fun at the Christmas fair with my four legged friend Pal and his Mum Claire volunteering with the medical detection dogs charity. Enjoyed talking to people about the amazing noses of these dogs. Humans have 5 million ‘smell’ receptors whereas dogs have over 300 million!

Bumped into a few former castle colleagues who greeted me with big smiles. One colleague told me about her daughter’s best friend who is soon to get her own medical detection dog to assist her with PoTs, a syndrome which causes an abnormal response by the nervous system resulting in blackouts. How amazing that this young woman currently studying at university will soon have a new companion to help her daily life.

Bought some children’s books and Christmas cards from the charity to pass on the message to my dog-loving family and friends. Every penny helps!
