The last full moon for 2017 and it is a supermoon - the first since November 2016.
As it reaches its fullness, the moon is making its closest approach to earth at the same time which makes it a supermoon.
The extra photo was taken as the sun disappeared below the Western Ranges for the day. The rising moon was taken a short while later in the opposite direction as it rose above the horizon to glow brighter than usual in the night sky.
Thank you for the comments and stars for yesterdays lit candle in the Advent wreath - the first Sunday of Advent.
