Another Red Squirrel

Not this time one from the garden.  We needed to do some shopping in Carlisle and for one reason and another the plans escalated!  We that is Clickychick, Kanyl and myself headed for Carlisle.

Then we had decided to make the most of the day so up the motorway to Scotland to visit the Red Squirrels on the Eskrigg Reserve.  Unlike last time there were no others there, in particular the loud talker with the long lens.  Thank goodness.  There were squirrels all over.  It wasn't unusual to have 4 in view at any one time.  Out of the 300 or so shots I decided on this one.

From there back down the motorway to look for Starlings around Gretna.  We couldn't be bothered to drive round looking for the main mass as it was drizzling.   So we enjoyed the largish flock we could see and then wandered round the outlet village.

We followed this with a meal in Carlisle and rounded off the day with a visit to the North Lakes as we do once every fortnight.  All in all a busy but fun day.  The highlight of course was the Red Squirrels.
