Not One Of Ours!

Not content with our lovely red squirrels in our garden, we ventured over the Scottish border for a return visit to Eskrigg Nature Reserve.

Today marked the first anniversary of our sister-in-law's death so we wanted to make the day as nice as it could be for B-i-L, Kanyl.  We had a full day out from 10.30 am until 11.30 pm, just popping in to his house between a meal out and drinks.

The red squirrels were well worth the journey to see, they were running about everywhere with four of them visible at any one time. You can see from the angle of the one in Extras, just how close they were willing to come towards my feet. I sat down to get a better shot of it sitting on a log and found it was to close to focus and my 100-400 lens says it focuses down to a metre!

At this time of year the reserve was quiet, just a few dog walkers so we didn't feel obliged to move to let anyone else get the shots. I'll be back again in better light so my ISO isn't as high
