Lost and Befuddled by Science

Just as we get the central heating boiler apparently fixed (at least it seems fixed, although I have no confidence that water leak sealant introduced in the system is a long term solution), it is the television now giving us problems.
A smart television has become not so smart. The TV engineer has been this morning and blinded and befuddled us with science.
Look away now if the explanation is likely to befuddle you too).

It seems the the 4 cables coming into the house via a local satellite box are all, save one, functioning at a level below 50% and as low as 10%. Since the primary satellite dish serves the whole area and the signal is split between a burgeoning number of establishments, we now have to get the powers that be to look into the trouble. This is easier said than done and may yet prove to be a huge headache.
His Lordship and I hark back with fondness to a TV with one remote control and 3 channels......

Storm Caroline has decided not to wage war with her namesake in this airt today and has come to nothing more than being a wee bit blowy. However I am aware of disruption elsewhere and feel rather lucky that we were not using the New Queensferry crossing today.

Not having being out during daylight hours so far today, I have featured as a blip a lily (?)from a beautiful bouquet of flowers brought to us by our lunch guests last Friday.
