Snow-day

The promised snow arrived at dawn, and continued steadily for much of the morning. There was a continuous flurry of birds at the feeder, vying for the energy-rich sunflower seeds.

By lunchtime the snow had turned to light sleet and some areas were already beginning to melt. Pete and I went for a long walk through Thorpe Hall and Holywell Fish Ponds and then back along the Rowing Lake.

Everything was very slippery which made it quite hard going - I fell on a shallow slope and managed to land on my hurt shoulder, though I don't think I've done it any further harm. And at least the camera wasn't damaged!
