4.9C with squally sleety showers and a few bright spells. Very dark during the showers.
W/WNW wind to 26 mph with gusts to 48 mph.

The plumber turned up just before 12 noon. Thankfully it didn't take long for him (and his mate) to take out the old and install the new washing machine. They asked where I wanted the old one and agreed to carry the old machine the two flights of stairs down and put it outside our stone shed. I have put a couple of loads though the new machine as tests and I will put the frame and the door etc back in the fitted kitchen unit tomorrow.

Fergus and I went for a walk about 2pm after the first load was through the machine and there was a gap in the sleety showers. We went round to the harbour and had a wander out as far as the cemetery and tried to get home before the next shower. Nearly made it.
