Life through the lens...

Colourful

Always one of the best window displays in Leeds, and at Christmas Louis Vuitton pull out at the stops.
As you can see this is a stunning display, and I thought perfect for today's Abstract Thursday.

We have just got back from a wonderful and uplifting Lord Mayor's Carol Concert at Leeds Town Hall.
Met with friends late afternoon and then went to the Arts Cafe for a lovely large warming glass of mulled wine.
Then on to the Victoria Quarter, which is where I took this photo.
From there we had a walk round the Christmas Market, where we enjoyed some very good burgers.
On to the Town Hall, and we had some great seats near the front.

We were entertained by the Rothwell Temperance Band, and the Leeds Philharmonic Chorus.
Carols were sung by us all, including :

God rest you merry gentleman.
While shepherds watched their flocks by night.
Once in royal David's City.
Away in a manger.
O little town of Bethlehem
Hark the herald - angels sing.

The Chorus sang
Sans Day Carol
Tomorrow shall be my dancing day
In the bleak mid-winter
I saw three ships

The band played,
Midnight Sleigh-ride
The Irish Carol
Jingle Bells
Jubilo, jubilo

It past all too quickly. A truly wonderful evening
The retiring collection was for the Candlelighters ( children's cancer charity)
I hope people gave generously.
We will be back next year.
