Kyanjin

Wee Flecky still ill so Katie and I walked to Kyanjin, about 3hrs, to visit Isori and Ama and the new baby. A lot of new building going on here as well but again, all guesthouses. Pretty big and fancy looking too, certainly compared to the condition and standards of the ones we've been staying in. No doubt prices will be going up. As always, made so welcome. The family are living in one of the temporary " houses" supplied by the govt. One small room for cooking/living and two separate small sleeping alcoves. There were many of these dotted around but apparantly the lease for them will run out in another year and not sure what everyone will do then. Dawa and Isori have a small plot of land back in Langtang but no funds for building. No land is being made available for housing in Kyanjin and at the moment, no sign of any building anywhere apart from guesthouses. No time to go up Kyanjin Ri (mountain overlooking the village) and hang the prayer flags but Dawa will do it for us. Or time to walk to the glacier. Have to come back next year! Back to Langtang and back to see Wee Flecky. Improving a bit so heading back down tomorrow.
