Life's A Beach

Tahunanui is a long beach and today there were people all along it.  Family groups, groups of young men watching groups of young women, siblings swimming together.  A father holding his toddler daughter and bobbing up and down in the waves was speaking to her in German I think.  Her squeals of delight needed no translation.  The strangest sight was a man walking in chest deep water paralleI to the beach and using a metal detector.  The sea is still warm.  
I decided to use this shot because it looks different to what I usually do.  I liked the expanse of sea and sand with the lone kite surfer.
