The steps to Calton Road

As the renovations of Waverley Station proceed, gradually little bits of finished work are revealed. I was taking a few pics on the way through the station today as an 'aide memoire' to remind me to write a new set of instructions for our arrival instructions for the cottage.

But when I looked at this photo as I was selecting my blip choice for the day, I realised that they've put some horrible steel bannister in the centre of the steps which seems quite out of keeping with the freshly-painted Victorian ironwork which comprises the remainder of the stair. Bah!

But I do love the way the sunlight now streams into the station.
