More Walking

We had the hotel store our bag and then went on another walkabout.
There were only two places we were going to go to - the Capitol building to try for a shot using the reflecting pool in front of it (not really possible due to the ice on the water) and the National History Museum.
That would mean a walk round about half of The National Mall ........ about 2 miles so not too bad!.
It also meant that I could take some shots of this wonderful building - the National Museum Of The American Indian. It has no corners in it (evil spirits can hide in corners) and is surrounded by landscaping of 'companion planting' and adobe sculptures which are left to weather and fall apart change with time.

In the Natural History Museum SWMBO wanted to see the Hope Diamond (she says she wouldn't wear it!) and I wanted to see the Wildlife Photography Competition exhibition (500,000 entries from 10,000 photographers) ..........absolutely outstanding! - Not just the images, but the way they were printed (on metal bonded in perspex) and displayed. I have never seen such a good photographic exhibition.

Mid afternoon we headed back to the hotel and collected our bag before heading off to the brother-in-law's for the next two days. It was by Metro and then taxi (nobody seemed to be able to work out the buses which would still leave us to drag the case about a mile),
