electric funeral

Today we switched off an old Solaris box after almost 19 years of service. Pretty impressive though that it lasted that long. It did loose various drives and we had to salvage a power supply from another one we had still kicking around. Wonder when we will actually get it out of the building. The picture is only of the terminal the actual computer (see extra) is the size of a large bedside table and weighs about 100kg. My colleague had some speakers wired up and played the bits of HAL's demise. Nice lunch afterwards and then the school's Christmas social.
