Pictorial blethers

Ghostly ...

The familiar outlines of the little church I attend were rather less familiar this afternoon as dusk fell to add to the fog in which we'd been walking up the hillside above the Bishop's Glen. We'd climbed through the forest and emerged on the top muddy road to find ourselves clear of the fog, with blue sky and a vapour trail directly above us; our route downwards soon re-entered the fog and we were alone in the gloom. It was incredibly silent at the time, though by the time we were going through the churchyard the birds were shouting "Goodnight, John-boy" or whatever it is they do at this time.

The faint light in the centre of the building is coming through the arched windows of the narthex; the church is open during the day and on Thursday late afternoon there is a said Eucharist - there were several cars in the car park when we got back to the car.

The extra photos were taken about an hour earlier, in the churchyard and on the forest path.

It's been a short, short day ...
