Anxious Mum

A waxeye on the outside of the redcurrant enclosure screeches instructions at her mischievous child who is trapped inside and in a panic. I had to make an opening for him to escape through.

Waxeyes are usually very secretive when they have fledglings. Only excited squeaking and ruffled leaves betray their presence. However, the chicks in this brood fearlessly show themselves. They are so sweet.

The extra shot is of a strange blackbird that appeared in my garden this afternoon. I don’t if it is a female or a juvenile.

I had a text from the Council telling me to boil the water because of an E.coli contamination. Great! What am I to do with the 2000 litres in the holding tank?
