Flower Friday Sunflower

Flower Friday to the rescue again. Thanks Anni :-)
One of several sunflowers out at the farm, just in time for Christmas.

I was going quite well for a while today. 
Went for my swim and there weren't too many people there so I didn't need to abort it.
Then I tackled the supermarket, hopefully for the last time BC. 
It wasn't too bad either. Busier than usual but I have a feeling we were all trying to be good natured.

Then I decided that, as I needed some egg whites for the Christmas pavlova, I would make a crème caramel to use up the yolks. 
I usually make crème brulée  and should have stuck to it. 
I took the first lot of caramel off when it looked perfect but it kept cooking off the heat and turned into toffee. 
So I ditched it and started again. 
I must have over stirred the next lot as it ended up like white cement. 
My third attempt seems OK, although I was being so careful it took forever and made us late going the farm which meant late dinner and now a late night.

I didn't even need a crème caramel so it had better be good.
