Flash Hogweed

I did venture into Wetherby at 8:00 this morning for some weekend food - the supermarkets were packed! I also filled up with fuel so am ready for our excursions on 25th and 26th!

With no dog to walk it was hard to get motivated to go out to get a photograph .. and my 10,000 steps.

In the end I got out mid afternoon and found this common hogweed flowering at the side of the road - there is actually loads of it about at the moment. It was very gloomy even at 14:30, so I used my flash on 1/16 power and a small aperture (f10) so that the flower was illuminated and the background rendered almost black.
