A pleasant unhurried day with S and J, finishing the choosing of gifts for Monday. A pleasant lunch in Auckland's equivalent of Harrods (Smith & Caughey), followed after S had seen an Armani sponge bag for men (with Armani written repeatedly across the outside, but rather blurred) for over $1,000. As the bag is purely advertising (many other bags would be more efficient and probably last longer, so its not quality that's being sold); perhaps Armani should pay those who take it a commission for every day they document using it. That way they would get back the purchase price in just under 3 years (at $1 a day). If the bag lasts that long.

Back in the apartment this afternoon, I recovered the tinsel tree from where it has languished since last used. J found some baubles with this result.
