Caen Hill (Saturday 23rd December 2017)

I pulled over at Caen Hill today for the last time before Christmas, possibly before the New Year. A cygnet was present on the canal above the Moorings (see Extra) and glided over to say hello, and one of the parents was busy grazing on the opposite bank. There were still quite a few narrowboats and one went through on its way towards Devizes Wharf while I was there.

Brenda Holloway - I'm Giving Up (recorded 1965, Los Angeles CA; overdubs added 5 November 1966)
Brenda Holloway recorded stacks and stacks of material for Tamla, mostly in Los Angeles were she was based but also at Hitsville in Detroit. Stuff that wasn't released at the time is still turning up, including a 2CD Spellbound - Rare And Unreleased Motown Gems that includes this sure fire dancefloor filler that I heard for the first time on this day.
