Where the rich and the clever come to worship

Being neither rich or clever I was only there as a tourist! This back blip shows 'All Souls Chapel' in Kings College Chapel, Cambridge. A side chapel off the main body, 'All Souls' was converted in the 1920s to house a memorial to those from Kings College who died in WW1 (memorial is visible on left of picture). King Henry VI authorised construction of Kings College and work began on its chapel in1446. But after his murder and during the war of the roses work was interrupted but continued for a time on the orders of Richard III. However due to the turbulence of that period of history the chapel was not completed until during the reign of Henry VIII. The Tudor dynasty stamped its authority on the chapel, where many Tudor Roses are carved. I take full responsibility for any historical errors in this write-up!
