Spicy Tree

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

A friend made this Christmas tree for us with cinnamon sticks. The cinnamon sold in Mexico is Ceylon cinnamon, as opposed to cassia cinnamon that is sold in the US. The sticks of cinnamon are sold in the markets in lengths of 1-3 ft, and cost around 400 pesos per kilo.
The "candles" are part of the pods that appear on the African tulip trees that grow here. Carol painted them to look like candles. She is so creative!
The extra is cinnamon in the market.
