CHRISTMAS DAY

Today we were on early shift at the local hospice serving Christmas lunches. This is our 4th year doing this and definitely the busiest so much so our shift had ended before we got lunch. Mum befriend a young man who’s wife was seriously ill but it obviously gave him some comfort to talk. Last year 2 ladies gave their terminally ill Dad Theatre tickets and he asked why as he wouldn’t last that long. All year I’ve wondered if he got there well he did as they were back in with him today. Sadly now he is very poorly.

This afternoon (back home) we opened presents, watched the Queen, ate and played games....and the boys prepped birds for Our Christmas Day tomorrow.

RECOVERY PATH...day 58/60.....a day for us all to give something back to a caring profession that has featured so much in our lives this year.
