White red phoneboxes

Hull is the only place in the UK not served by BT and the area's iconic cream phone boxes are still dotted around the place. I presume they are now as archaic as other phone boxes but it's still nice to see them around.
We were in Beverley this morning for a chilly walk on the Westwood where Poppydog remained pristine as her usual mud wallows were frozen; then a very nice coffee and shop wander with m-i-l. LH spent his Mum's folding money present on a pair of warm walking trousers; both the Yorkshire members of our party were very enthusiastic as they were at knock-down, mega-bargain price :-) So LH also bought a new small backpack (also at discount) to replace his 30+ yr old one. It makes them both so happy ... Personally, I'd rather pay and get on with doing more interesting things but each to their own!
Beverley is such a pretty town that I've blipped the market square too.
We're having a gentle pottering day with LH's sister and b-i-l over for the evening. Home tomorrow and hoping we escape any weather-related problems. We were just north of it yesterday and listened to a friend of m-i-l describe their 8 1/2hr Surrey to Hull trek which, after many years travelling the same route, we know should be 5 hrs max :-0 Fingers crossed!!!
